You’re not going to believe this, because I hardly believe it myself, but Transmit 3 was released on February 16, 2005. More than five years ago. And it has been an absolute workhorse for thousands upon thousands of people around the world ever since.
We previewed Transmit 3 to attendees of Macworld Expo in January of that year. I specifically remember one visitor saying, “I couldn’t imagine how you could have improved on Transmit 2, but you did!”
There’s always one more rough edge to sand off the workflow. There’s always one more little dull spot that can be polished to a shine. We’re perpetually unsatisfied perfectionists. We may go quiet for a while, but we’re never, you know, done around here.
So, in that spirit, we’re proud to announce Transmit 4, the latest and greatest version of the #1 file transfer utility for the Mac.
By the numbers, we’ve got one near-total rewrite, one brand new interface, over 45 new features, up to 25 times the speed, and one particularly awesome new feature. All of the details are over on the website.
Transmit 4 is $34 for new users, $19 for Transmit 3 owners, and free for people who bought Transmit 3 on or after March 1st, 2010. You can buy it instantly right here. The download is also the demo, so if you’re not already a Transmit user, try it all for 7 days for free.
Over the coming weeks we hope to blog a lot of tips, tricks, and did-you-knows. Stay tuned.
Most importantly, thanks for all of your support, ideas, and suggestions — we tried to get as many as we could in there. Thanks for your interest in our software. Thanks to our beta testers, who helped us find and fix hundreds of bugs, making Transmit 4.0 likely our most solid out-of-the-gate release ever.
And thanks especially to that group of code-slinging maniacs I work with for putting their all into everything we do, every time. You are crazy and I’m so proud of all of you.
The rest of you: please, enjoy!
Rutger
4/27/2010 1:28 AMWhoah! It already was my favorite client, but now you’ve outdone yourselves!
Elias
4/27/2010 1:31 AMWow. I’m thrilled! You made it even better once more. That’s panic. Thanks!
Ignacio
4/27/2010 1:40 AMCongrats guys. This release is superb!
Sniggy
4/27/2010 1:43 AMBrilliant! Panic never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks!
Stefan
4/27/2010 1:43 AMWell done guys, I’ll check it out.
Now start releasing Coda 2, because this is what I am *really* waiting for ;) !
ad
4/27/2010 1:48 AMNever bought an upgrade so fast before.
rado
4/27/2010 1:50 AMfabulous app and product page. unbelievably good quality. roll on coda 2 :)
regards
Cecily Walker
4/27/2010 1:52 AMI actually got out of bed at 1:45 am to download this software. I’d been away from Twitter for most of the day and was catching up on Tweets when I saw the announcement. I downloaded it and bought the upgrade 45 seconds later.
Sleep be damned!
Burger Party
4/27/2010 2:02 AMJust wondering if I can buy 1 copy and use it on my home machine and work machine?
Burger Party
4/27/2010 2:03 AMAlso so glad someone is still working on excellent cutting edge Mac software and not just trying to make a fast buck on the App Store.
Antonio Pedrazzini
4/27/2010 2:05 AMamazing! just had to buy it right there on the spot! :-D
go for coda 2 now!
AndreW
4/27/2010 2:05 AMReally great work. This overtops T3 and the competitors, like beaten by a new shiny road train in the front.
I bought your great stuff after 10 min, but what about settings import from Flow ftp? My only request on this piece of software.
thanks!
Neven
4/27/2010 2:08 AM@Burger Party: Our licenses are per-user, so you can use Transmit on two computers. Just not, you know, at the same time :)
Neil Daniels
4/27/2010 2:18 AMIf I buy a T4 license, can I get a T3 license for an old, Tiger machine at work? I absolutely love T4, but if now I wish I bought T3 yesterday to get the free upgrade to T4 (for purchases after March 1, 2010).
Hugues
4/27/2010 2:42 AMAppart from a few bugs, Transmit 3 was close to perfection. Now I see it was not even close! :)
Congratulations for the release (and for the, again, super-polished product page)!
(I would second the request to import from Flow… I may have committed some infidelities with it but I’m now ready to come back)
Marc Friederich
4/27/2010 2:47 AMRelly impress as always by the communication surrunding your product. I just bought it and my workmate also. Your rock !
Julien
4/27/2010 3:20 AMBought this as soon as I saw it. Was disappointed to see the “Transmit Disk does not support the 64-bit kernel.” Sad face. Otherwise the user experience here is phenomenal! Went and synched all my FTP servers just for yucks.
Will this 64-bit incompatibility thing be addressed?! Also another vote for Coda 2. :D
Alex
4/27/2010 3:26 AMHave loved playing with the beta version. Would be great if you could add importing Coda favourites and also integration with Rackspace Cloud Files.
Tom Schlander
4/27/2010 3:26 AMThank you so much. I just installed it and I love it. Great enhancements and the speed is amazing!
Thumbs up!!!
-Tom
Matthew
4/27/2010 3:31 AMHaving used Transmit 2 and Transmit 3 I have to conclude this is seriously awesome! I I love how the main UI takes up less space (no draws), but is actually far more powerful. The use of animation is fantastic (between icon views) and the sync dialog is greatly improved (“That’s the plan.” — l love those little details/humorous touches). I like the popup above the slider to show you the pixel size of the icons as you are resizing. And then holding down option forces it to snap to 32,48,128, 256). I love the way QuickLook window resizes as you move between images with the arrow key (wish Finder would do this). I’m sure I’ll find much more.
This must have take so long. I really think Apple could take note. This is certainly the best I have see on the Mac for quite a while. And this is the reason I’m on a Mac — the great third party tools. You’ve put a smile on my face today. — thank you :) The only problem is — I could waste hours playing with all the fun animations in slow mo.
Mislav
4/27/2010 3:38 AMThanks for making software such a pleasure to use.
Danny
4/27/2010 3:38 AMGreat update, really enjoying the new version.
Coda 2 beta please! :D
John
4/27/2010 3:38 AMcoda 2 when? html5, css3, ajax, server bahaviour … please dont’t tell me to purchase dreamweaver cs5 because coda 2 not will be available before 2020
Philipp
4/27/2010 3:54 AMGood one. Ka-ching!
Alex
4/27/2010 4:03 AMI never bought a program so quickly. Congratulations guys, good work :)
Alex
4/27/2010 4:04 AM(and I’m waiting coda 2 as well)
Daniel
4/27/2010 4:08 AMI just don’t use FTP that often; CyberDuck does it for me. But based on my experience with Coda, and after reading through your terrifically beautiful product page, I know which one I’m going to recommend to friends.
Here’s hoping for Coda 2! Espresso is nicer at the moment, what with (mediocre but functional, IMO) code folding and some CSS3 support (@group is nice for managing styles, too), but I miss multi-paned views, and tabs.
Krishna
4/27/2010 4:09 AMAny chance we could get the new Transmit 4 truck as desktop wallpaper? :D
Jack
4/27/2010 4:13 AMFantastic work. I think I started using Transmit in ’99 or 2000 which makes it the longest-serving app I own by quite a margin – here’s to another decade!
Peter
4/27/2010 4:24 AMHow about RackSpace CloudFiles support?
Devran
4/27/2010 4:26 AMThanks for making my life easier!
I _LOVE_ the new Interface and the Disks feature!
Now I need a good Fireworks replacement from Panic – I would pay more than $300 :D
Christopher Månsson
4/27/2010 4:54 AMI really love this one. The user interface feels just right. Everyday FTP is now so much more comfortable. Thank you!
Dinis Correia
4/27/2010 4:58 AMGreat product!
One small question: is the dashboard widget gone?
John Brayton
4/27/2010 5:16 AMThe app looks great. Your web site design is very impressive as well.
Chris D
4/27/2010 5:17 AMHey folks, enough with the Coda 2 whining.
Don’t you think that the folks at Panic are aware that Coda could probably use an upgrade and are working on it? Maybe you ought to try being grateful that Panic provides such high quality tools at really reasonable prices. And they have a great and fun attitude about it to boot.
How would YOU feel if you introduced a great new product to your clients and all they did was bitch at you?
Brandon S
4/27/2010 5:37 AMLove the app so far, but I was really sad when I saw that Transmit Disk doesn’t support the 64 bit kernel. I hope that gets added soon!
seb
4/27/2010 5:39 AMHi guys,
One more time, very good job ! I’ m your #1 French fan. Could you tell me please which is the font you used for titles like Disk or features on T4 page specs ?
Andy
4/27/2010 5:46 AMBeautiful work, guys! Super impressed.
I always look to your apps as inspiration for UI design. :)
Art Delano
4/27/2010 6:20 AMI was gonna file a bug that the truck was missing cup holders, but I see you got that covered too. Great work!
Julian
4/27/2010 6:46 AMAbsolutely fucking amazing. It feels like a completely new app, with everything I already had in place in Transmit 3, only polished to a mirror finish and spun into OSX 10.6.x. Super work kids.
Lee Joramo
4/27/2010 6:52 AMLooks great, been a Transmit user since Transit.
Always hoping for rsync support in an awesome GUI file transfer app.
David
4/27/2010 6:58 AMCoda 2, please! I don’t do much FTP, but I do a heck of a lot with Coda…
Eric Elliott
4/27/2010 6:59 AMNice work guys! Loving the new interface and features!
One problem I see though: Transmit 4 triggers my new MacBook Pro to switch to the 330M graphics card, cutting my battery life in half when using it. And I have Transmit open A LOT. Interestingly enough, Flow with its (albeit not-as-cool-as-Transmit-4) eye-candy doesn’t trigger the switch. I guess back to Transmit 3 for now….
Zack Kitzmiller
4/27/2010 7:02 AMHey, I’m having an issue on launch where..
Joking.
Thanks Guys.
Henning Molbaek
4/27/2010 7:08 AMAny chance you will support Rackspace Cloud Files in the near future?
OwlBoy
4/27/2010 7:23 AMRocking.
Guillermo
4/27/2010 7:24 AMCongrats! Transmit 4 rocks. Now… gimme Coda 2.0 :p
Geert
4/27/2010 7:32 AMGlad to see the speed increase. That is why I switched to ForkLift. I’ll have to check T4 out.
Dalton
4/27/2010 7:35 AMMind. Boggling. Goodness.
rolphus
4/27/2010 7:45 AMLovely. Just load-tested my shiny new upgrade by deleting all the crud left behind on my iDisk by Backup.app – something I’ve never managed to do before. That’s freed up 2GB on my iDisk so I can do a proper offsite backup for the first time in a couple of months, and that’s paid for the upgrade.
Byron
4/27/2010 7:52 AMGreat upgrade. I use this daily and am already impressed with the software. Seeing the transmit truck rendered so large I couldn’t help but think that you’ve given all those bastard icon swipers a nice specimen to pilfer! :D
Paul Ingraham
4/27/2010 8:03 AMYou guys really have an overachieving problem there at Panic. Produce something sloppy or lazy sometime, why doncha? Go home early. Let someone else blaze trail. Sheesh!
Kristopher Hunt
4/27/2010 8:09 AMFantastic work! I would’ve paid $34 for the truck icon alone! Cup holders!
Jan Philipp Pietrzyk
4/27/2010 8:14 AMLets not just make it the fastest selling Transmit ever, too!
It’s allway a pleasure to install a new version of a programm you not only use often, but care about. So I say thanks to the whole team and will now go play around a bit.
Btw: Full Coda integration comes with 4.1 ?
Floggy Bottom
4/27/2010 8:22 AMYeah, I very often find myself wanting to add Coda bookmarks to Transmit, not the other way around. This integration would be great.
Silvio Sousa Cabral
4/27/2010 8:25 AMCongratulations! Transmit 4 is awesome. It blows away every single FTP client for the Mac that I ever tested, and I write reviews of a lot of Mac apps here in Brazil. I don’t have a lot of time to spend on it today, but soon I’ll review it and send a full article for you to read.
By the way, I wrote a little post about it regrading your launch, so you can check out right now. The reaction of our readers was very great: http://tinyurl.com/3a4wkut
Derek
4/27/2010 8:29 AMThank you for saving us from the tyranny of CyberDuck… again. :)
j.kent.r
4/27/2010 8:35 AMNow that’s what I’m talking about! Instant upgrade. Been using Transmit since version 2. Love it so much I’ve stopped using Dreamweaver’s built-in FTP.
Matt Sephton
4/27/2010 8:49 AMAwesome work guys – it rocks!
Radu Matasaru
4/27/2010 8:56 AMJudging by the splash guards, the 3.0 truck was running faster :)) Just kidding.
Keep rocking!
Luke Dorny
4/27/2010 9:31 AM10 lugbolts?! Holy Carp!
Congratulations, too. This truck is more MANN than FUSO now!
Nik Daum
4/27/2010 9:37 AMLooking good, Panic. Looking good. Time to upgrade my aging copy of Transmit 3. Personally, I’d love it if both Coda and Transmit got rolled into one app, but that’s just selfish for my needs. Coda 2 soon?
Travis Vocino
4/27/2010 9:55 AMThe interface is beautiful. I love the classic icon update as well.
I was really disappointed to see a lack of CloudFiles support though.
Marc Charbonneau
4/27/2010 10:12 AMCongratulations guys. I’ve been using Transmit 4 since this morning, and it looks like a very well done release.
Wolf
4/27/2010 10:30 AMLovely release — looking forward to the tips and tricks.
Yevgeny Smirnov
4/27/2010 10:33 AMGreat work. Another vote for Rackspace CF and for Amazon S3 “streaming” buckets.
Ryan L
4/27/2010 10:39 AMGreat job guys! I’m in love with Transmit 4. The best FTP client I’ve ever used \m/
Julien
4/27/2010 11:22 AMEverybody is on about the cup holders… I’m much more thrilled by the change from generic all seasons to unidirectional semi-performance tires. This truck must be fast!
John Derry
4/27/2010 11:50 AMI hope you’ll post soon regarding the “Transmit Disk does not support the 64-bit kernel.” issue. Is this temporary or just “the way it is”?
Cabel
4/27/2010 11:53 AMJohn et al: Indeed, Transmit Disk is not 64-bit compatible at this time. It’s a complex issue. You can learn more here.
(If you feel like e-mailing us and telling us why you’re running the 64-bit kernel, we’re curious to know!)
Elliot Larson
4/27/2010 12:25 PMLooks great! +1 for Coda 2. Please don’t wait 5 years to update that.
Frank
4/27/2010 12:27 PMI’m going to post an unzipping video of my brand new Transmit 4!
Seriously though :) Congrats guys, this is 1 great upgrade and also allows me to do away with (though it too is a great app) ExpanDrive whose function is handled by Transmit Disk.
angelday1
4/27/2010 12:33 PMI bought it today, full price. Word.
albertkinng
4/27/2010 12:51 PMOMG! I must be dreaming. I just received your promo email and bought it right away. I mean, I’ve been a Transmit user since the debut version, but suddenly I was feeling a big Gab with this app that move me to others apps like Flow and Dragster. Once in a while I was using Transmit but not as in the beginning. I was so ready to erase it from my life until I read this email TODAY. Thanx so much for this big upgrade, thanx so much for all your apps, you are really helping the web developer community with this app!
don
4/27/2010 12:56 PMGood Job!
Best FTP and file-transfer-client on the planet right now!
David Grevink
4/27/2010 12:56 PMThis is just a great release, its been so great, bought it right up this morning ! You guys did an amazing job ! Take a well-deserved break and then onto Coda 2 if I may say so :-)
Dustin
4/27/2010 1:15 PMDoesn’t run on Tiger 10.4.11. :(
Andre
4/27/2010 1:31 PMAwesome release! Thanks Guys. Just purchased my upgrade. Can’t wait for Coda 2.
patrick
4/27/2010 1:40 PMAm I missing it, or is CMD-J not the Edit File shortcut anymore? Outside of this, I’m loving Transmit 4. Bought this morning as soon as I saw the annc.
Ken G.
4/27/2010 1:49 PMWill I need to rewrite my Automator workflows?
steve reinhardt
4/27/2010 1:52 PMtransmit 4 is insane. in a very very good way.
Micha
4/27/2010 2:05 PMNice – the breadcrumbs will save time and prevent some errors. I do think the tabs need more work, though: it should be easier to distinguish the active tab from an inactive one at a short glance. Strictly speaking, the tabs aren’t even tabs: the active tab looks like it’s sitting behind the active space, instead of being a part of it.
Scott Barrington
4/27/2010 2:31 PMlooks fantastic! can’t wait to get my hands on it, keep up the great work!
JD
4/27/2010 2:32 PMOh.. I forgot, ACE work with Transmit 4.0! I just upgraded and it looks worth every penny!
Paul
4/27/2010 2:48 PMThis was an instant buy again! Thanks for the nice upgrade and friendly pricing :)
Grant
4/27/2010 2:52 PMWow…just…….WOW!!!
Great job to Panic.
David
4/27/2010 2:55 PMI’ve bought it already! It’s fantastic. I absolutely love that you can mount volumes through Finder.
Thanks so much for all of your hard work! You guys rock!
Marc
4/27/2010 3:00 PMYessss! I ordered the update instantly. Now I’m ready for Coda 2.0, hint hint :)
David G
4/27/2010 3:01 PMWow! First Unison 2(bought instantly), then Transmit 4(buying now). Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Coda.
martin47
4/27/2010 3:04 PMFaithful since T2, I purchased T4 even before downloading: a sign of sure confidence in your work. Thanks for this great new version which has just pushed ExpanDrive into the wastebin!!
pablo
4/27/2010 3:26 PMi am getting the error “you need a newer version of macfuse.” it then installs, and i can verify i am running beta, 2.1.5. i keep getting this error though, preventing me from using transmit disk. any help appreciated.
Tom Lynch
4/27/2010 3:30 PMI haven’t even tried this app yet, I used T3 before, I know I will love T4 what ever happens, so I want to thank you for the best money ever spent, and I really cannot hold on any longer for Coda 2, please can we get a tiny weeny spoiler/sneak peak picture of some thing, and a estimate of how long we have to wait…
This year, next, summer, winter???
THANKS PANIC!
Brandon
4/27/2010 4:07 PMI bought it. Then read the feature set.
That may be the first time I’ve ever purchased software in steps of that order.
Stephen Boak
4/27/2010 5:24 PMThanks for the great app, guys, your work is inspiring!
Taylor Tsantles
4/27/2010 6:16 PMYou guys did an absolutely phenomenal job with this new release!… I think it’s officially jumped to my top 3 favorite mac apps! I can’t wait for a Coda update, but will wait patiently, because it’s well worth it.
Vic Emond
4/27/2010 6:38 PMA M A Z I N G (yet again).
Caspar Chiquet
4/27/2010 7:39 PMI bought it BEFORE I tried out the demo. =)
Magnet4awesome
4/27/2010 9:07 PMDunno if anyone has mentioned it yet, but NICE little update on the app icon too! stays the iconic representation of the brand but offers the details and polish that such a worthy update requires.
Marcus
4/27/2010 11:19 PMHow did you get 25x speed? I want details!
Justin
4/27/2010 11:47 PMWonderful, simply wonderful. I love mac and Panic!
Paul Pregnolato
4/28/2010 1:05 AMVery nice app – have been putting T3 through it’s paces after upgrading to ADSL in January and upgrading to T4 was a no-brainer!
Andrei
4/28/2010 1:15 AMGuys this is outstanding … good features fine UI … now please make me spend more money on a Coda update :)
Francis Booth
4/28/2010 1:46 AMHey guys, loving the order complete progression bar/button on the order page. Lovely touch.
Oh… and the new Transmit looks good too. :)
paolo Genta
4/28/2010 2:40 AMT4 is simply wonderful. A ‘must have’ piece of software, even if you don’t need an FTP client :D
Thanks Panic!
Alexander Clarke
4/28/2010 3:34 AMI love it. But Rackspace Cloud Files would mean I could ditch Cyberduck for good.
Oh, and Amazon S3 header-editing would be nice. :-)
Ryan Qiu
4/28/2010 5:10 AMGreat update! But it’s sooo sad to see that transmit disk doesn’t support 64 bit kernel….
Looking forward to coda 2
Usable E
4/28/2010 5:23 AMLokks great and since i bought T3 only a few weeks ago its free for me.
Big big massive +1 for Coda2 aswell.
Lance
4/28/2010 5:59 AMThe app looks great & I’m loving it so far!
El Chipo
4/28/2010 6:50 AMTransmit 4 looks great. Never bought an update within 5 minutes after the anouncement by mail. :)
A big +1 for Coda 2, because I wanna have code completion with my CSS-classes and IDs and code folding and better FTP sync. An idea would be syncing Sites between Transmit and Coda. Apart from that do I really love Coda! :)
Jon
4/28/2010 7:25 AMYou had me at “progress bars”
Scott
4/28/2010 7:37 AMDunno what folks are saying about T4 not importing Cyberduck or Coda sites; I managed to do it using the “Favorites–>Import” feature with no troubles whatsoever. Both Coda and Cyberduck are among the listed import candidates. Nice job Panic!
+1 on Coda 2 ;)
foolala
4/28/2010 9:01 AMAny possibility to cache the disk feature and sync as soon i’am online? Would be a nice Dropbox replacement!
John
4/28/2010 9:09 AMOh, yummy! The Finder based ‘Disks’ feature was worth the upgrade price alone! You guys ARE the best! :)
Gedy
4/28/2010 9:23 AMThis is just ridiculously beautiful. Not only does it work amazing but the interface changes are just gorgeous. Like someone said, you guys were my favorite before but this time, you definitely outdid yourselves.
Thanks!
Nils
4/28/2010 9:46 AMThe best UI experience I’ve had in years! My colleagues using FileZilla fell of their chairs today :D
Anders
4/28/2010 10:29 AMNice looking update and the speed increase is awesome! However, why the heck did you axe the sidebar?? Places is a very poor replacement for the much better sidebar – especially when it comes to quickly switching through folders both on your computer and on the network.
Grant
4/28/2010 10:58 AMLove the upgrade. I use transmit constantly to maintain my websites through godaddy. Can you help me with what is Amazon S3? Can that replace godaddy hosting? Would it? Also, is there a better way to keep my favorites in sync, without using mobile me? I split time between 3 computers. Can I use drop box to do this? Maybe this should have been a tech support question. Anyway. Great release. Bought it in about 2 minutes upon release. Keep up the solid work.
Jeff N.
4/28/2010 11:01 AMRackspace Cloud Files!!!! I will buy Transmit immediately when you decide to include it!
Jamie Graham
4/28/2010 11:51 AMBravo! Amazing! What an upgrade! I am through the moon and this is going to make my life as a web developer a lot easier (and a lot prettier).
I’m so impressed with all the UI improvements. Well done.
Cody
4/28/2010 12:18 PMI’ve been waiting a loooong time for this. Not sold on the Places popup and would like a Forklift favourite importer, but otherwise excellent.
Neven
4/28/2010 1:10 PMJust a reminder: If you have a tech support question, please email Panic Support via email. This makes it easier to continue the conversation, get the info we need, and resolve your issue. Thanks!
Nik Daum
4/28/2010 2:47 PMOn the product page for Transmit, you should fix the tick in “We’ve gone all out.” to a real apostrophe rather than a foot mark.
Todd Thille
4/28/2010 4:21 PMBeautiful upgrade. Such attention to detail…right down to the *new* single click license installer. Panic continues to over-deliver excellent user experience.
macCesar
4/28/2010 6:17 PMGreat upgrade.. But I’m also waiting for Coda 2.0!! Please roll it out soon!!.
Thanks.
Christian G. Nelson
4/28/2010 8:04 PMNever could i dream of the best getting better! great job guys! I love all your apps, and i own them all… Just bought the upgrade for T4! W00PIN’ Thanks!
Dennis
4/29/2010 12:21 AMGreat release, keep up the good work!! Any signs of a Coda 2b1 in the panic office ;-)
Peter
4/29/2010 1:27 AMCongrats on a splendid-looking update. The power progress bar, for instance, is great UI design. Kudos to whoever came up with that!
On a side note, there’s a discount for Transmit (3 only, surprisingly) owners when buying Coda, but I haven’t found any info on the reverse. Here’s why such a discount for Coda owners might make sense: It’s no problem to get by with Coda as the only FTP client on a Mac, and that’s why some Coda owners will have a hard time justifying buying Transmit for the full price. If there’s an extra incentive, however, people might give in to the allure of having taylor-made tools for different tasks more easily.
Brad Bansner
4/29/2010 6:36 AM4.0 freakin’ rules. I just search and replaced files in a directory via FTP. Awesome.
cesar
4/29/2010 8:09 AMT4 looks awesome!!
just wondering, how about jstalk as a scripting language? TransmitKit?? maybe, as the dataplot framework? http://www.visualdatatools.com/DataGraph/Framework/index.html
Steven
4/29/2010 10:10 AMChris K: Transmit stores your passwords in the system keychain. You can view them using Keychain Access in Applications > Utilities. Neat!

4/29/2010 3:08 PMHere is another Rackspace CloudFiles support vote! Great release though! Amazing work!
Patrick
4/30/2010 2:18 AMHow to prevent .DS_Store file creation when mounted as disk?
“defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true” doesn’t help :(
CloudFiler
4/30/2010 6:32 AMSad, here I thought Cloud Files support was in 4.0. Sign me up to buy it when the awesome Panic dev’s add in support!
David Richardson
4/30/2010 9:21 AMPanic… You guys write the best software on the market… Time to go big, maybe a html5 editor or anything to compete with inDesign/Quark. Your software makes Adobe look like Microsoft.
Alec
4/30/2010 2:06 PMGreat update! Use Transmit every day, love the new look and features.
@Krishna about wallpaper: something like this? http://goo.gl/vT4T
Used the icon from the app and the panic logo via Google Images. Acorn file: http://goo.gl/ENsZ
Ahmed
5/1/2010 4:01 AMLoving 4.0 especially the disk feature. As a user of both S3 and Rackspace Cloud files, would love to see cloud files support included :)
Krishna
5/1/2010 7:11 AM@Alec – the wallpaper looks great! Thanks!

5/1/2010 2:13 PMPanic Team … Kudos. The performance improvements alone warrant an upgrade, but using Transmit 4 feels like a beta for future Mac interfaces. Cupertino, start your photocopiers.
Crumpet
5/1/2010 5:52 PMI’ve been using Espresso’s inbuilt ftp client for ages, but after using this demo of transmit 4 I think I might change. If only there was support for rackspace cloud files— you’d already have my dough!
Ed
5/3/2010 6:38 AMReally nice update. The only little thing missing: the ability to compare two files (local/local or local/remote) using an internal diff viewer or an external one (deltawalker, filemerge…)
Steve
5/6/2010 9:51 AMAnother vote for Rackspace Cloud support. Put it in, and I’ll buy it.
Sean Murphy
5/6/2010 3:36 PMSpeedy indeed. I’m aware of the 64-bit limitation for why the disk mounts don’t work; however I just discovered the dashboard widget is broken too? :(

5/8/2010 7:57 AMAnother vote for Cloud Files support :)
Mark
5/11/2010 2:13 PMLove the new update. I am wondering though; “What happened to the show exact file size feature?” Has that been moved to another place in the program?
Mikkel
5/24/2010 12:28 PMSupport Cloud Files…. please!

5/27/2010 7:02 AMTRANSMIT ON IPHONE??
I absolutely love Transmit, I’ve bought it more than 1 time, but nowadays whe need to access our FTP client’s sites anywhere.. anytime.. Where’s out iPhone Transmit FTP client? I had today to pay 6€ for FTPontheGO ’cause I didn´t find you guys at the Apple Store :-(
TRANSMIT ON IPHONE??
I’ll buy it for sure (will sych my favorites?) I hope so.. please DON´T WAIT ANYMORE TIME. you’ve been always the first ones to release this kind of software on the macs.. what’s going on? Cheers from Spain
Corey Ward
6/2/2010 5:07 PMAnother Rackspace CloudFiles user here wondering how this was overlooked and has yet to be mentioned by Panic. AWS is way too complicated for its own good (regional-overload, billing for transfer across products, constant confusion of products).
Steven Haddox
6/7/2010 12:08 AMI’ve seen at least 5 or 6 others asking for this feature (not to mention beta requests, etc). But, consider this yet another +1 for Rackspace Cloud Files support.
Keep up the awesome work!!!
Marc
6/9/2010 1:30 AMGood work, but really missing a tab switcher bar !
David Bailey
6/9/2010 1:36 PMSo far, the new release looks promising, especially the Finder Window access. Thanks. One request: I have a lot of FTP accounts to manage and that right scroll menu is way too skinny! Please bring back the MacOS-sized scroller. It kind of reminds me of those old Kai interface tweaks! Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Mike Mayo
6/14/2010 6:54 PMAnother vote for Rackspace Cloud Files. I’m an iOS/Mac developer, and I’ll be happy to add the support myself if you guys are too busy. And congrats! Transmit 4 looks gorgeous.

6/24/2010 8:36 AMWell done Panic, it’s a quality piece of software.

8/3/2010 10:47 AMI upgraded to T4, and really love mounting sites on the desktop, best feature ever!
Now…
Coda 2.0 please, it’s long over due… Come on put the dagger in TextMate and be DONE with it. Give us a sneak peak or some kind of update on Coda 2.0, heck Allen (TextMate) has showed some screenies on IRC, DO IT PANIC! DO IT!!!

10/7/2010 10:49 AMLove the new version. My only complaint is that it would be nice if you could decrease the minimum window height by about 100 pixels or so. Unfortunately, I have small monitor and Trasmit takes up a lot of real estate.
Tristan
10/14/2010 9:28 AMI’ve used Transmit 3 for years to upload files on my website. I have of course upgrade to the 4th version, which is, indeed, very nice.
However, I had to set up today a Rackspace Cloud Server and I have been tremendously disappointed when discovering that Transmit could (or would ?) not support it…

3/22/2011 11:25 PMTransmit really is a great app. My favorite FTP app by far. Having said that though, Rackspace Cloud Files!!!! Let’s make it happen Panic. Based on the user responses it’s a no-brainer.

9/15/2011 3:29 PMI’ve just tallied up the votes for Rackspace Cloud Files support and it looks like there are now 12 people asking for “cloudfiles” (one word) and another 32 for “cloud files” (two words) for a total of 42 (including myself). So how’s about you guys get this figured out ASAP. I know it would make raving fans out of a lot of folks who would much prefer to use Transmit for 100% of their file management needs and (as others have said, ditch Cyberduck).
If you look at the actual integration of Cyberduck, all they require is your cloud files username and the API key. How hard could it really be, consider you guys already do AS3, WebDAV, etc.
Lachlan Munday
9/22/2011 6:31 PMAnother vote for Rackspace CloudFiles… please please please get this built in, it would make my workflow so much more efficient.
